In the Spectrum News1 story, Dr. James Berbee, founder and CEO of WiscMed, talks about why he was inspired to invent the Wispr Digital Otoscope. “Typical otoscopes are essentially a magnifying glass with a light source. I was embarrassed when I could not say for sure if a child had an ear infection. The Wispr digital otoscope allows me to see the eardrum and then take the appropriate action, which is treatment with antibiotics”, said Dr. Berbee.
